  • 8 ounces Sliced Mushrooms
  • 1 large Onion
  • 4 cloves Garlic
  • 2 cups Beef Broth
  • 10.5 ounces Cream of Mushroom Soup
  • 1 packet Beefy Onion Soup Mix

Instructions

  1. Prepare the patties: In a large bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, milk, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined. Form the mixture into even-sized patties.
  2. Brown the patties: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Brown the patties, about 3-4 minutes per side, until nicely seared. Don’t worry if they’re not cooked through; they’ll finish cooking in the Crockpot.
  3. Sauté the vegetables: In the same skillet, add sliced mushrooms, chopped onions, and minced garlic, cooking until softened—about 3-5 minutes.
  4. Assemble in the Crockpot: Place the browned patties in the Crockpot. Top them with the sautéed vegetables, beef broth, cream of mushroom soup, and the packet of beefy onion soup mix.
  5. Cook low and slow: Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or on high for 4 hours, until the patties are tender.
  6. Serve and enjoy: Before serving, give the gravy a good stir. Serve the Salisbury steak over mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles.
