Description

A delightful blend of traditional tiramisu and festive Yule log, perfect for holiday celebrations.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled
  • 1/2 cup coffee liqueur (optional)
  • 6 large egg yolks
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1 1/4 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 24 ladyfingers
  • Cocoa powder for dusting
  • Chocolate shavings for garnish

Instructions

  1. Mix the cooled brewed coffee with coffee liqueur (if using). Set aside.
  2. Whisk together the egg yolks and sugar in a saucepan over medium heat. Gradually add the milk and cook until slightly thickened, then remove from heat and allow to cool.
  3. Whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
  4. Fold the cooled egg mixture into the mascarpone and add in the vanilla. Gently fold in the whipped cream.
  5. Dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture briefly, then line the bottom of your log-shaped mold.
  6. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers, then repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers followed by the remaining mascarpone mixture.
  7. Cover and chill in the fridge for at least 240 minutes or overnight.
  8. Dust the top with cocoa powder and sprinkle chocolate shavings just before serving.

Notes

To avoid sogginess, dip ladyfingers briefly in coffee. Consider using day-old ladyfingers for the best texture.
