Description

A delightful combination of sweet and spiced flavors, punctuated by tender apple pieces and a hint of crunch from nuts.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup apples, peeled and diced
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan to prepare for the batter.
  2. Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon in one bowl. Whisk until blended.
  3. Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in a separate bowl until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry flour mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep your bread tender.
  6. Fold in the diced apples and the nuts if desired, ensuring they’re evenly distributed.
  7. Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan. Sprinkle cinnamon sugar over it for the swirl effect, then add the remaining batter on top. Finish with another sprinkle of cinnamon sugar.
  8. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for a few minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack. Slice and enjoy!

Notes
