Description

Irresistible freshly fried churros coated in cinnamon sugar, served with rich chocolate sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Combine water, 2 tablespoons of sugar, salt, and vegetable oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat and bring to a gentle boil.
  2. Remove the pan from heat and stir in flour until a cohesive dough ball forms.
  3. Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium heat for frying.
  4. Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip.
  5. Pipe strips of dough into hot oil, frying until golden brown.
  6. Combine 1/4 cup sugar and ground cinnamon in a separate bowl.
  7. Roll each churro in the cinnamon-sugar mixture while warm and serve immediately.

Notes

For a richer flavor, you can use unsalted butter instead of vegetable oil. To enhance presentation, serve with chocolate sauce, whipped cream, or fresh fruit.
