- 2 tablespoons white sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Combine water, 2 tablespoons of sugar, salt, and vegetable oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat and bring to a gentle boil.
- Remove the pan from heat and stir in flour until a cohesive dough ball forms.
- Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium heat for frying.
- Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip.
- Pipe strips of dough into hot oil, frying until golden brown.
- Combine 1/4 cup sugar and ground cinnamon in a separate bowl.
- Roll each churro in the cinnamon-sugar mixture while warm and serve immediately.
Notes
For a richer flavor, you can use unsalted butter instead of vegetable oil. To enhance presentation, serve with chocolate sauce, whipped cream, or fresh fruit.
