Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup chocolate ganache (for filling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the egg along with the vanilla extract until just combined.
  4. Sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually incorporate this dry mixture into the wet ingredients, stirring until well blended.
  5. Roll the dough into small balls (about 1 inch in diameter) and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Press your thumb gently into the center of each ball to create an indentation.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until set but still soft.
  8. Cool completely on a wire rack before filling the indentations with chocolate ganache.

Notes

For a more intense chocolate flavor, try using dark chocolate ganache.
