- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup chocolate ganache (for filling)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg along with the vanilla extract until just combined.
- Sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually incorporate this dry mixture into the wet ingredients, stirring until well blended.
- Roll the dough into small balls (about 1 inch in diameter) and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Press your thumb gently into the center of each ball to create an indentation.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, until set but still soft.
- Cool completely on a wire rack before filling the indentations with chocolate ganache.
Notes
For a more intense chocolate flavor, try using dark chocolate ganache.
