Description

Indulge in these easy-to-make Chocolate Coconut Bars, featuring a buttery graham cracker base layered with sweetened condensed milk, chocolate chips, and coconut flakes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups fine graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup + 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 3/4 teaspoon fine sea salt, separated
  • 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened coconut flakes

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC) and prepare an 8″x8″ baking dish by greasing it lightly.
  2. Combine the fine graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt in a small mixing bowl. Mix until well combined.
  3. Transfer the mixture to the baking dish, pressing firmly across the bottom to form an even crust.
  4. Pour the can of sweetened condensed milk evenly over the crust, then sprinkle the remaining 1/4 teaspoon of salt across the top.
  5. Scatter the chocolate chips over the milk layer, followed by the coconut flakes. Gently press the toppings into the condensed milk using the tines of a fork.
  6. Bake for 28 to 30 minutes, until the coconut is tinging golden-brown.
  7. Remove the dish from the oven and run a sharp knife along the edges to loosen the bars.
  8. Allow the bars to cool completely, which should take about 30 minutes to 1 hour. Once cooled, cut into 12 bars or 16 squares, serve, and enjoy!

Notes

These bars are best enjoyed with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or drizzled with chocolate sauce. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
