Description

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Combine warm milk and yeast in a bowl. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Whisk together flour, sugar, salt, melted butter, and egg in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Add the yeast mixture to the dry ingredients and knead until smooth.
  4. Allow the dough to rise in a warm place for about 60 minutes, until doubled in size.
  5. Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle.
  6. Spread melted butter on top, then sprinkle cocoa powder, cinnamon, and chocolate chips evenly.
  7. Roll the dough tightly into a log and slice into individual rolls.
  8. Place them in a greased baking pan.
  9. Cover the rolls and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  10. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  11. Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown.
  12. Mix powdered sugar with milk for the glaze and drizzle it over warm rolls before serving.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. Freeze for up to 2 months. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10 minutes.
