Description

A creamy twist on classic sloppy joes using Chicken Alfredo, perfect for family dinners or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or diced (rotisserie works well)
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: red pepper flakes
  • 1 cup chopped spinach or roasted red peppers
  • 4 soft sandwich buns, toasted
  • Optional: shredded mozzarella for extra cheesiness

Instructions

  1. Prepare Chicken: Shred or dice your cooked chicken. If starting with raw chicken, cook until tender and fully cooked.
  2. Sauté Aromatics: In a skillet over medium heat, add the butter. Once melted, add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until fragrant and translucent.
  3. Make Alfredo Sauce: Gradually pour in the heavy cream, whisking continuously. Slowly add the grated Parmesan cheese, stirring to avoid lumps. Season with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. For heat, add red pepper flakes.
  4. Combine Chicken and Sauce: Fold in your shredded chicken (and any optional veggies) into the Alfredo sauce, ensuring it’s well coated. If too thick, add a splash of milk.
  5. Assemble Sandwiches: Spoon the creamy chicken mixture onto the toasted buns. Optionally sprinkle with shredded mozzarella before serving.

Notes

Feel free to experiment with different veggies or spices to customize your sandwiches.
