  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • Your favorite toppings (pepperoni, bell peppers, onions, etc.)

Instructions

  1. Mix the warm water, sugar, and yeast in a bowl. Let it rest for 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  2. Combine the flour, cornmeal, and salt in another large bowl. Stir in the melted butter and yeast mixture until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface, about 5 minutes, until it’s smooth and elastic.
  4. Transfer the dough to a greased bowl, cover, and allow it to rise for 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
  5. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  6. Roll out the dough and press it into a greased deep dish pizza pan, ensuring to cover the sides.
  7. Layer mozzarella cheese at the bottom, add your preferred toppings, and then spread marinara sauce on top.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes, until the crust is golden brown and bubbly.
