- 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar

- 1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Beat the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- Spread the cherry pie filling evenly in the bottom of a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Dollop the cream cheese mixture over the cherry filling, spreading it out gently to cover as much as possible.
- Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the cream cheese layer.
- Drizzle the melted butter over the cake mix, making sure to coat as much of it as you can.
- If desired, sprinkle the chopped pecans and ground cinnamon on top for additional flavor and crunch.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the top turns golden brown and the cake is set.
