Description

A delicious and comforting meal that combines flavorful meatballs, zesty marinara, and gooey cheese in a soft hoagie roll.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Mix everything until well incorporated.
  3. Shape the mixture into meatballs, roughly 1.5 inches in diameter.
  4. Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the meatballs, browning them on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Pour the marinara sauce over the meatballs and let them simmer for 10-15 minutes until cooked through.
  6. Prepare a baking sheet and place the hoagie rolls on it. Spoon generous servings of the meatballs and sauce into each roll.
  7. Top the loaded rolls with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for about 5-10 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley before serving.
