- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 4 hoagie rolls
- Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Mix everything until well incorporated.
- Shape the mixture into meatballs, roughly 1.5 inches in diameter.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the meatballs, browning them on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
- Pour the marinara sauce over the meatballs and let them simmer for 10-15 minutes until cooked through.
- Prepare a baking sheet and place the hoagie rolls on it. Spoon generous servings of the meatballs and sauce into each roll.
- Top the loaded rolls with shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 5-10 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh basil or parsley before serving.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
