Description

A deliciously gooey cheese experience, enhanced by juicy tomato slices nestled between crunchy, buttery bread.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 slices of your favorite bread (white, whole grain, or sourdough)
  • 1 cup of grated cheese (Cheddar or Mozzarella recommended)
  • 1 medium tomato, sliced
  • Butter for spreading

Instructions

  1. Preheat your sandwich press or skillet over medium heat.
  2. Butter one side of each slice of bread.
  3. Lay one slice of bread, buttered side down, onto your heated press or skillet.
  4. Sprinkle a layer of grated cheese over the bread.
  5. Add several slices of tomato on top of the cheese.
  6. Finish with another layer of cheese.
  7. Top with the second slice of bread, buttered side up.
  8. Cook until the bread is golden brown and the cheese has melted, about 3 to 5 minutes.
  9. Remove from heat, slice, and serve warm.

Notes

Pair with a fresh green salad or tomato soup for a complete meal. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days.
