- 2 slices of your favorite bread (white, whole grain, or sourdough)
- 1 cup of grated cheese (Cheddar or Mozzarella recommended)
- 1 medium tomato, sliced
- Butter for spreading
Instructions
- Preheat your sandwich press or skillet over medium heat.
- Butter one side of each slice of bread.
- Lay one slice of bread, buttered side down, onto your heated press or skillet.
- Sprinkle a layer of grated cheese over the bread.
- Add several slices of tomato on top of the cheese.
- Finish with another layer of cheese.
- Top with the second slice of bread, buttered side up.
- Cook until the bread is golden brown and the cheese has melted, about 3 to 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat, slice, and serve warm.
Notes
Pair with a fresh green salad or tomato soup for a complete meal. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days.
