- ¾ cup Unsalted Butter (melted and cooled slightly)
- 1 ½ cup Granulated Sugar
- 1 ¼ cups All-Purpose Flour
- ½ cup Dutch Processed Cocoa Powder
- 2 ¼ tsp Baking Powder
- 1 tsp Salt
- 3 Large Eggs
- 1 ½ cups Whole Milk Ricotta Cheese
- 3 tsp Vanilla Extract
- ½ cup Mini Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9-inch springform pan.
- Melt the unsalted butter and dark chocolate together in a microwave or saucepan.
- Mix the granulated sugar, all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
- Combine the eggs, ricotta, and vanilla extract in another bowl and whisk until smooth.
- Fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, then add the melted chocolate mixture and stir until combined.
- Transfer the batter to the prepared pan and top with chocolate chips if desired.
- Bake for 38-40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool the cake in the pan for 20 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
