Description

A hearty yet healthy twist on traditional tacos, using lettuce wraps instead of tortillas for a fresh and vibrant dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 cup sweet peppers, diced
  • 2 tablespoons homemade taco seasoning
  • Butter lettuce leaves
  • Taco toppings (diced tomatoes, avocado, shredded cheese, salsa)

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, add the diced onions. Sauté until they become translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  2. Next, add the lean ground beef and sweet peppers to the skillet. Cook until the beef is browned and the peppers are tender.
  3. Stir in the homemade taco seasoning, mixing well. Allow everything to cook together for an additional 5 minutes to infuse the flavors.
  4. Once cooked, spoon the beef mixture into individual butter lettuce leaves.
  5. Lastly, top with your favorite toppings and enjoy!

Notes

Store leftover filling in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. Reheat thoroughly before serving.
