Description
A delightful twist on the classic dessert, this Banana Tres Leches Cake is a moist and flavorful treat soaked in a luscious blend of three types of milk.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 can (12 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup whipped cream (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC) and grease a 9ร13 inch baking pan.
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until evenly combined.
- Cream the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in the vanilla extract and the mashed bananas until integrated.
- Slowly add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it out evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, whole milk, and heavy cream in a separate bowl.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Use a fork to poke holes all over the top. Pour the milk mixture over the warm cake.
- Cover and let the cake rest in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.
- Top with whipped cream and enjoy!
Notes
You can replace the all-purpose flour with a gluten-free blend if needed, and try using almond or oat milk for dietary adjustments. For best flavor, use very ripe bananas.
