Description

A delightful twist on the classic dessert, this Banana Tres Leches Cake is a moist and flavorful treat soaked in a luscious blend of three types of milk.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 can (12 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup whipped cream (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC) and grease a 9ร—13 inch baking pan.
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until evenly combined.
  3. Cream the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in the vanilla extract and the mashed bananas until integrated.
  4. Slowly add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it out evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, whole milk, and heavy cream in a separate bowl.
  7. Let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Use a fork to poke holes all over the top. Pour the milk mixture over the warm cake.
  8. Cover and let the cake rest in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.
  9. Top with whipped cream and enjoy!

Notes

You can replace the all-purpose flour with a gluten-free blend if needed, and try using almond or oat milk for dietary adjustments. For best flavor, use very ripe bananas.
