Description
Crispy and gooey baked mozzarella sticks, perfect for parties or a fun snack.
Ingredients

- 1/2 cup Italian breadcrumbs
- 1 tbsp olive or grape seed oil
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/3 cup flour
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 12 mozzarella string cheese sticks
- 1/3 cup marinara sauce for dipping
- Ranch dressing (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare your work area with three shallow bowls: one for flour, one for beaten eggs, and one for breadcrumbs.
- Heat the oil in a skillet over medium heat until a drop of water sizzles.
- Add Italian breadcrumbs to the skillet and stir for 3-4 minutes until golden brown. Transfer to one of your pans.
- Unwrap the mozzarella sticks and coat each one in flour, shaking off excess.
- Dunk the stick in beaten eggs, then drain excess before moving to the breadcrumb mixture.
- Roll the stick in breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere. Place on a lined baking sheet.
- Repeat for all cheese sticks, spacing them out on the baking sheet.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 400˚F for 9-11 minutes until cheese begins to bubble.
- Remove from oven, let cool for 2 minutes, and serve warm with marinara and ranch for dipping.
Notes
Consider using flavored breadcrumbs for extra taste. Can freeze prepared sticks to bake later.
