Description
A delightful combination of flaky puff pastry and creamy eggs, perfect for brunch or a light dinner.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 sheet of puff pastry
- 4 large eggs
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated cheese (such as Gruyère or Parmesan)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped fresh herbs (e.g., chives or parsley) for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface. Cut it into circles that will fit your baking dish.
- Place the pastry circles into the dish and bake until they’re golden brown—about 10 minutes.
- In a bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, a pinch of salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Once the pastry is baked, carefully pour the cream mixture into each pastry shell.
- Crack an egg into each shell, taking care to keep the yolk intact.
- Generously sprinkle grated cheese over the eggs.
- Return the dish to the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the eggs are cooked to your desired level of doneness.
- Before serving, garnish with fresh herbs to add a pop of color and flavor.
Notes
Use cold puff pastry for a flaky texture. Experiment with different cheeses and add herbs for variety.
