Description

A delightful combination of flaky puff pastry and creamy eggs, perfect for brunch or a light dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet of puff pastry
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated cheese (such as Gruyère or Parmesan)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped fresh herbs (e.g., chives or parsley) for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface. Cut it into circles that will fit your baking dish.
  3. Place the pastry circles into the dish and bake until they’re golden brown—about 10 minutes.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, a pinch of salt, and pepper until well combined.
  5. Once the pastry is baked, carefully pour the cream mixture into each pastry shell.
  6. Crack an egg into each shell, taking care to keep the yolk intact.
  7. Generously sprinkle grated cheese over the eggs.
  8. Return the dish to the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the eggs are cooked to your desired level of doneness.
  9. Before serving, garnish with fresh herbs to add a pop of color and flavor.

Notes

Use cold puff pastry for a flaky texture. Experiment with different cheeses and add herbs for variety.
