Description

Crispy and cheesy baked broccoli balls that make a fantastic appetizer or snack, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups broccoli florets (finely chopped)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (for binding)
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 eggs (for binding)
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour (for binding)
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder (for seasoning)
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder (for seasoning)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooking spray (for greasing the baking sheet)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Steam the broccoli: Place the broccoli florets into a steaming basket and steam for about 3-5 minutes until tender-crisp. Allow to cool, then finely chop.
  3. Mix together the chopped broccoli, breadcrumbs, cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, eggs, and flour in a large bowl. Add garlic powder, onion powder, and salt and pepper. Stir until well combined.
  4. Form small portions into 1-inch balls and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. For extra crispiness, broil for 1-2 minutes.
  6. Cool slightly before serving warm with marinara or ranch dip.

Notes

Feel free to swap the cheddar cheese for other cheeses or use gluten-free breadcrumbs to customize.
