- Pappardelle pasta
- Ground beef
- Ground pork
- 1 Onion, chopped
- 1 Carrot, chopped
- 1 Celery stalk, chopped
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 can Canned tomatoes
- 1 cup Red wine
- Olive oil
- Salt
- Black pepper
- Grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil or parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion, carrot, and celery; sauté until softened.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for one additional minute.
- Stir in the ground beef and pork, cooking until browned.
- Pour in the red wine and let it simmer for a few minutes.
- Add the canned tomatoes, salt, and black pepper, then let it simmer for at least an hour.
- Cook the pappardelle pasta according to package instructions until al dente.
- Drain the pasta and mix it with the sauce.
- Serve immediately, topped with grated Parmesan and fresh basil or parsley.
Notes
For a lighter version, swap traditional pasta for zucchini noodles. For extra flavor, let the sauce simmer longer.
