Description

A warm, gooey apple-gouda grilled cheese sandwich infused with sage butter, perfect for a cozy evening or brunch.


Ingredients

  • 2 slices of bread (your choice)
  • 2 slices of gouda cheese
  • 1 small apple, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon fresh sage, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a small pan over low heat. Add the chopped sage and cook for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  2. Butter the bread by spreading sage butter on one side of each slice.
  3. Layer the gouda cheese and thinly sliced apples on the unbuttered side of one slice, sprinkling with salt and pepper.
  4. Assemble the sandwich by placing the second slice of bread on top, buttered side facing up.
  5. Cook the sandwich in a medium-heat skillet for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and melty.
  6. Slice in half and serve warm!
