- 2 slices of bread (your choice)
- 2 slices of gouda cheese
- 1 small apple, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 teaspoon fresh sage, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Melt the butter in a small pan over low heat. Add the chopped sage and cook for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Butter the bread by spreading sage butter on one side of each slice.
- Layer the gouda cheese and thinly sliced apples on the unbuttered side of one slice, sprinkling with salt and pepper.
- Assemble the sandwich by placing the second slice of bread on top, buttered side facing up.
- Cook the sandwich in a medium-heat skillet for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and melty.
- Slice in half and serve warm!
