Description

A delightful twist on traditional pastries, combining fluffy waffles with sweet donuts packed with diced apples.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup diced apples
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce (optional)
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your waffle iron to ensure even cooking.
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and sugar until combined.
  3. Beat the eggs in a separate bowl, then add milk and melted butter, whisking until smooth.
  4. Gradually mix the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined. Lumps are okay!
  5. Fold in the diced apples, ensuring they are evenly distributed.
  6. Lightly spray the waffle iron with non-stick spray. Pour enough batter into the waffle iron.
  7. Close the lid and cook until the waffles are golden brown and crispy, about 4-5 minutes.
  8. Remove the waffle donuts carefully and place them on a wire rack.
  9. Drizzle with caramel sauce and sprinkle with powdered sugar while warm. Enjoy!

Notes

These donuts can be served with coffee or ice cream and are excellent for brunch.
