Description

A comforting meal with juicy ground beef patties in a creamy savory gravy, perfect for weeknight dinners or family gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs (Plain or seasoned)
  • 1 Egg (Beaten)
  • 1 Onion (Finely diced)
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Black pepper
  • 3 tbsp Butter (Salted or unsalted)
  • 3 tbsp All-purpose flour
  • 2 cups Beef broth (Low sodium preferred)
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 1 Onion (Sliced)
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, beaten egg, diced onion, salt, and pepper in a large mixing bowl and gently mix.
  2. Shape the mixture into 6–8 oval-shaped patties.
  3. Heat an oven-safe skillet over medium heat and brown the patties for 3–4 minutes on each side.
  4. Melt the butter in the same skillet and sauté the sliced onions until translucent.
  5. Sprinkle in the flour and stir for about 2 minutes.
  6. Whisk in the beef broth and heavy cream until combined and bubbling.
  7. Nestle the browned patties back into the gravy and cover tightly with a lid or foil.
  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 45 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
  9. Remove from the oven and let rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or a side salad. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days.
