Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk

- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 cup flaked coconut
- 1/2 cup almond slivers
- 1 cup coconut frosting
- 1 cup chocolate ganache
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour three 9-inch round cake pans to ensure easy release.
- Whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well blended.
- Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla to the dry ingredients. Beat on medium speed for about 2 minutes, or until well combined.
- Carefully stir in the boiling water, mixing until the batter is smooth. Divide the batter evenly among the prepared pans.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cakes to cool in their pans for 10 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
- Layer the chocolate cakes, spreading a generous amount of coconut filling between each layer.
- Frost the sides and top of the cake with the creamy coconut frosting.
- Drizzle chocolate ganache over the top, letting it cascade beautifully down the sides. Finish with almond slivers.
- Slice and serve this indulgent cake to elevate your special occasion!
