Description

Enjoy a lighter, healthier take on classic fried fish with this Air Fryer Battered Fish recipe that’s crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.

Ingredients

Scale
  • White fish fillets (such as cod or haddock)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko recommended for extra crunch)
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup cold water
  • Oil spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Combine the flour, baking powder, paprika, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl.
  3. Add the cold water gradually to the dry ingredients, stirring until a smooth batter forms.
  4. Dip each fish fillet into the batter, ensuring it’s fully coated.
  5. Roll the battered fillet in breadcrumbs until well-covered.
  6. Place the prepared fish fillets in the air fryer basket, being careful not to overcrowd it.
  7. Lightly spray the fish with oil spray for that extra crisp.
  8. Cook for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
  9. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

For a lighter, crispier texture, use cold water in the batter. Panko breadcrumbs provide superior crunch.
