Description
Decadent truffles combining white chocolate and limoncello for a perfect balance of sweetness and tanginess.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 oz (340g) white chocolate, finely chopped
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- ¼ cup heavy cream
- ¼ cup limoncello
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- 12 oz (340g) white chocolate, melted (for coating)
- 2 oz (56g) white chocolate, melted (for drizzle)
- Candied lemon zest or powdered sugar (optional garnishes)
Instructions
- Melt the chocolate base by combining white chocolate and butter in a heatproof bowl. Heat heavy cream until simmering and pour over chocolate; let sit for 2 minutes.
- Mix in the flavor by stirring until smooth, then add limoncello, lemon zest, vanilla extract, and salt; mix well.
- Chill the mixture by covering with plastic wrap and refrigerating for about 2 hours until firm.
- Form the truffles by rolling chilled mixture into balls and placing on a tray; freeze for 30 minutes.
- Dip in white chocolate by melting and coating each truffle, allowing excess to drip off before placing back on the tray.
- Drizzle and decorate by melting remaining chocolate and drizzling it over truffles; add optional garnishes.
- Let them set at room temperature or refrigerate for 10-15 minutes until firm.
Notes
For a kid-friendly version, substitute limoncello with non-alcoholic lemon-flavored syrup.
