Description

Decadent truffles combining white chocolate and limoncello for a perfect balance of sweetness and tanginess.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz (340g) white chocolate, finely chopped
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • ¼ cup limoncello
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 12 oz (340g) white chocolate, melted (for coating)
  • 2 oz (56g) white chocolate, melted (for drizzle)
  • Candied lemon zest or powdered sugar (optional garnishes)

Instructions

  1. Melt the chocolate base by combining white chocolate and butter in a heatproof bowl. Heat heavy cream until simmering and pour over chocolate; let sit for 2 minutes.
  2. Mix in the flavor by stirring until smooth, then add limoncello, lemon zest, vanilla extract, and salt; mix well.
  3. Chill the mixture by covering with plastic wrap and refrigerating for about 2 hours until firm.
  4. Form the truffles by rolling chilled mixture into balls and placing on a tray; freeze for 30 minutes.
  5. Dip in white chocolate by melting and coating each truffle, allowing excess to drip off before placing back on the tray.
  6. Drizzle and decorate by melting remaining chocolate and drizzling it over truffles; add optional garnishes.
  7. Let them set at room temperature or refrigerate for 10-15 minutes until firm.

Notes

For a kid-friendly version, substitute limoncello with non-alcoholic lemon-flavored syrup.
