- 1/4 cup sugar (brown sugar adds depth)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup pistachio butter (unsalted)
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 4 ounces cream cheese (or mascarpone)
- 1 cup powdered sugar (or coconut powdered sugar for vegan)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (pure recommended)
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream (or non-dairy cream)
Instructions
- Make the dough by mixing warm milk, sugar, and yeast; let sit until frothy.
- Add melted butter, egg, and salt; mix in flour until a soft dough forms.
- Knead on a floured surface for about 5 minutes; let rise for 1 hour.
- Combine pistachio butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon for the filling.
- Roll the dough into a rectangle, spread filling, and roll tightly.
- Cut into individual rolls; let rise for 30-45 minutes.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla, and heavy cream to make icing.
- Drizzle icing over rolls and enjoy!
