Description
A delightfully soft, buttery bread that’s perfect for breakfast, brunch, or dessert, filled with sweet vanilla custard and rich chocolate chips.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons instant yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup whole milk, warmed
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup vanilla custard
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 egg (for egg wash) beaten with 1 tablespoon water
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together the warmed milk and eggs. Gradually add this mixture to the dry ingredients and mix until combined.
- Incorporate the softened butter slowly, mixing until the dough is smooth and elastic.
- Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel and let the dough rise in a warm place until it has doubled in size, approximately 60-120 minutes.
- Once risen, punch down the dough and roll it out on a floured surface.
- Cut the dough into pieces, filling each with vanilla custard and chocolate chips. Shape them into rolls.
- Place the rolls on a lined baking sheet, cover them, and allow them to rise for another hour.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Brush each brioche with your egg wash and bake for 15-20 minutes until they’re golden brown.
- Let them cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your homemade Brioches Suisses!
