Description

Delightful fluffy pastries filled with raspberry jam and dusted with powdered sugar, perfect for brunch or a sweet treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 packet active dry yeast (about 2 1/4 teaspoons)
  • 1/2 cup milk, warmed
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup raspberry jam
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine the warm milk and yeast; let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes bubbly.
  2. Whisk together the flour, sugar, and salt in a larger mixing bowl.
  3. Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg into the bowl of dry ingredients. Mix until combined.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface until it’s smooth and elastic, about 5 minutes. Let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread the raspberry jam evenly across the surface.
  6. Roll the dough into a log and cut it into 1-inch slices to form buns.
  7. Place the buns on a greased baking sheet and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Best served warm, these buns can also be enjoyed with coffee or tea. Consider storing leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days or freezing for up to 3 months.
