Description
Delightful fluffy pastries filled with raspberry jam and dusted with powdered sugar, perfect for brunch or a sweet treat.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 packet active dry yeast (about 2 1/4 teaspoons)
- 1/2 cup milk, warmed
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup raspberry jam
- Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- Combine the warm milk and yeast; let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes bubbly.
- Whisk together the flour, sugar, and salt in a larger mixing bowl.
- Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg into the bowl of dry ingredients. Mix until combined.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface until it’s smooth and elastic, about 5 minutes. Let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread the raspberry jam evenly across the surface.
- Roll the dough into a log and cut it into 1-inch slices to form buns.
- Place the buns on a greased baking sheet and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
Best served warm, these buns can also be enjoyed with coffee or tea. Consider storing leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days or freezing for up to 3 months.
