Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (plus more for glaze)
  • 1 cup strawberries, pureed
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Combine the warmed milk, sugar, and yeast in a bowl. Allow it to sit until frothy, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add in the flour, salt, melted butter, and egg. Mix until a dough forms, then knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  3. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a cloth, and let it rise until doubled in size—approximately 60 minutes.
  4. Roll out the dough into a rectangle. Spread the softened cream cheese and strawberry puree evenly over the surface, then sprinkle with sugar.
  5. Tightly roll the dough into a log, then cut it into individual rolls. Arrange them in a baking dish and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  6. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Whisk together the powdered sugar and milk for the glaze in a small bowl. Drizzle it over the warm rolls before serving.
