Description

Warm, flaky pastries filled with a creamy spinach mixture, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Heat a splash of oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and garlic. Sauté until soft and fragrant.
  3. Toss in the chopped spinach and cook until wilted, just a few minutes.
  4. Combine the cooked spinach with cream cheese, grated Parmesan, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl. Stir until well mixed.
  5. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut it into squares, around 3×3 inches.
  6. Place a generous spoonful of the spinach mixture in the center of each square.
  7. Fold the corners of the pastry over the filling and pinch to seal tightly.
  8. Brush the tops with a beaten egg for a beautiful golden finish.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until they are golden brown and puffed.
  10. Serve warm, and enjoy the deliciousness!

Notes

For a lighter option, ricotta cheese or Greek yogurt can be used as a substitute for cream cheese.
