Description

Delicious homemade Sourdough Pretzel Bites that combine tangy flavor and a soft, chewy texture. Perfect for snacks or gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup sourdough discard
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • Flaky sea salt for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Combine the sourdough discard, warm water, and sugar in a mixing bowl. Stir until nicely blended.
  2. Sift in the flour, baking soda, and salt, mixing until a cohesive dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.
  4. Divide the dough into small pieces, rolling each one into a bite-sized ball.
  5. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
  6. Bring a pot of water to a boil and carefully immerse the dough balls for around 30 seconds. Remove them and place them onto the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Sprinkle the tops generously with flaky sea salt for that iconic touch.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until they turn a lovely golden brown.
  9. Allow them to cool slightly before serving to enjoy their full flavor.

Notes
