A delightful pastry that combines creamy cream cheese with sweet peaches, perfect for breakfast or brunch.

- 6 oz cream cheese (at room temperature)
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 large egg yolk (room temperature)
- 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp lemon juice
- 1 15 oz can Del Monte Garden Quality® sliced peaches, drained
- 1 sheet store-bought frozen puff pastry, thawed
- 1 large egg mixed with 1 Tbsp water (for egg wash)
- Coarse sugar (for topping)
- 1/3 cup powdered sugar mixed with 1/2 Tbsp milk (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Make the cream cheese filling by beating the cream cheese and sugar on low speed until smooth.
- Add egg yolk, vanilla extract, salt, and lemon juice. Mix until fully blended and set aside.
- Prepare the peach filling by draining the peaches and slicing them into 1/4-inch thick pieces.
- Assemble the Danish by dusting parchment paper with flour and placing the thawed puff pastry on it. Roll it out slightly to flatten.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture down the center third of the pastry, keeping a 1-inch border at the top and bottom.
- Arrange peach slices uniformly over the cream cheese filling.
- Cut off the top corners of the pastry.
- Create diagonal cuts, 1-inch apart, along both sides of the pastry, leaving a 1/2-inch border from the filling.
- Braid the pastry by folding the strips in an alternating pattern.
- Apply the egg wash and sprinkle with coarse sugar.
- Bake for 25-28 minutes, or until golden brown on top.
- Make the glaze by stirring together powdered sugar and milk, then drizzle over the pastry.
- Slice and serve your beautifully braided Danish to family and friends!

Serve warm with coffee or tea. Can be topped with whipped cream or ice cream.
