Description

A quick and delightful treat of soft, caramelized bananas infused with cinnamon and nutmeg.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 slightly overripe bananas
  • 2 tablespoons sugar (or honey as a substitute)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)

Instructions

  1. Begin by slicing your bananas into rounds, approximately 1/3 inch thick.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the sugar, cinnamon, and optional nutmeg. Set aside.
  3. Lightly spray a large skillet with nonstick cooking spray and warm it over medium-low heat.
  4. Add the banana slices to the heated skillet, spacing them evenly.
  5. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon mixture over the bananas, and cook for about 2-3 minutes until the bananas soften slightly.
  6. Gently flip the banana rounds and sprinkle the remaining cinnamon mixture on top.
  7. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the bananas are warm and perfectly tender.

Notes

Best served warm; can be paired with pancakes, yogurt, or ice cream.
