- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup cocoa powder
- 1/3 cup strawberry jam or puree
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in another bowl. Gradually stir this dry mixture into the wet ingredients until a dough forms.
- Divide the dough into three bowls. Mix cocoa powder into one, strawberry jam into another, and keep the last as plain vanilla.
- Roll out each dough flavor between two sheets of parchment paper into equal-sized rectangles.
- Layer the chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry doughs on top of each other and roll them gently to form a swirl.
- Cut the rolled dough into slices and place them on the baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Cool the cookies on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For best results, refrigerate the dough layers for 20-30 minutes before rolling to maintain shape.
