Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/3 cup strawberry jam or puree

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  4. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in another bowl. Gradually stir this dry mixture into the wet ingredients until a dough forms.
  5. Divide the dough into three bowls. Mix cocoa powder into one, strawberry jam into another, and keep the last as plain vanilla.
  6. Roll out each dough flavor between two sheets of parchment paper into equal-sized rectangles.
  7. Layer the chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry doughs on top of each other and roll them gently to form a swirl.
  8. Cut the rolled dough into slices and place them on the baking sheet.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  10. Cool the cookies on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For best results, refrigerate the dough layers for 20-30 minutes before rolling to maintain shape.
