Description
Savory mushroom and cheese stuffed puff pastry bites that are buttery and flaky, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 17.3 oz puff pastry
- 16 oz cremini mushrooms, cleaned and sliced
- 1 medium yellow onion, diced
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 pinch salt
- 12 oz sharp white cheddar cheese, shredded
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add diced onion and sauté until translucent, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
- Add cleaned and sliced mushrooms to the skillet. Season with a pinch of salt and cook until they release their moisture and are browned, around 8-10 minutes. Remove from heat.
- Stir in shredded sharp white cheddar cheese until melted and fully combined.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry and cut it into squares (around 3×3 inches).
- Place a spoonful of the mushroom-cheese mixture in the center of each square, fold the pastry over, and seal the edges with a fork.
- Arrange the puff bites on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with a little olive oil for a golden finish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let them cool slightly before serving.
