Description
Delightful rolls infused with Earl Grey tea and finished with creamy lavender frosting, perfect for brunch or a cozy evening treat.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup milk (warm)
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 Earl Grey tea bag
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon lavender buds (optional)
Instructions
- Dissolve yeast in warm milk with 1 tablespoon of sugar in a small bowl. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- Combine flour, remaining sugar, and a pinch of salt in a large bowl. Pour in the melted butter, yeast mixture, and vanilla extract. Knead until smooth, then let rise until doubled in size, roughly 60 minutes.
- Steep the Earl Grey tea bag in 1/4 cup of hot water to create a concentrated brew. Stir in brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and add a tablespoon of infused tea.
- Roll out the dough and spread the filling evenly across the surface. Roll into a log and slice into individual rolls.
- Place the sliced rolls in a greased baking dish and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes or until golden-brown.
- Beat the cream cheese with powdered sugar and lavender until smooth and fluffy for the frosting.
- Allow the rolls to cool slightly before frosting them, then serve and enjoy!
