Description

A delightful and creamy Indian curry with tender lamb and a rich blend of spices.

Ingredients

  • Lamb, cut into pieces (shoulder or leg)
  • Yogurt
  • Coconut milk
  • Onion, finely chopped
  • Garlic, minced
  • Ginger, grated
  • Ground cumin
  • Ground coriander
  • Garam masala
  • Turmeric
  • Salt and pepper
  • Cooking oil
  • Fresh cilantro (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until golden and fragrant, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Stir in the minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking for another minute until aromatic.
  3. Add the lamb pieces to the pot, browning them on all sides.
  4. Mix in the ground spices: cumin, coriander, garam masala, and turmeric. Stir well to coat the lamb.
  5. Pour in the yogurt and coconut milk. Stir to combine and bring to a gentle simmer.
  6. Cover the pot and reduce the heat to low. Let it cook for about 90 minutes, until the lamb is tender.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste, adjusting as needed.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with fresh cilantro.

Notes

For creaminess, use full-fat yogurt and coconut milk. Serve with basmati rice or naan for a complete meal.
