Description

A delicious dinner ready in under 30 minutes, featuring a perfect balance of sweet and savory flavors with simply prepared chicken breasts.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large chicken breasts
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Garlic powder and onion powder (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch (optional)
  • Rice vinegar and grated ginger (optional)
  • Unsalted butter (optional for sauce)

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels and pound to an even thickness. Season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder if desired.
  2. Mix the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and optional rice vinegar and ginger in a bowl.
  3. Whisk the cornstarch with cold water in a separate bowl and set aside.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken for 4 to 6 minutes on each side until golden brown and fully cooked.
  5. Remove the chicken and keep warm under foil.
  6. Pour the honey garlic sauce into the same pan and bring to a simmer for 2 to 3 minutes.
  7. Gradually stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook until the sauce thickens, about 1 to 2 minutes. Optionally stir in unsalted butter.
  8. Return the chicken to the pan and coat with the sauce. Let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
  9. Serve with remaining sauce and garnishes like parsley, sesame seeds, or green onions.

Notes

Consider marinating the chicken in the honey garlic sauce for enhanced flavor. Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness at 165°F.
