Description
A delicious dinner ready in under 30 minutes, featuring a perfect balance of sweet and savory flavors with simply prepared chicken breasts.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large chicken breasts
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Garlic powder and onion powder (optional)
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch (optional)
- Rice vinegar and grated ginger (optional)
- Unsalted butter (optional for sauce)
Instructions
- Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels and pound to an even thickness. Season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder if desired.
- Mix the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and optional rice vinegar and ginger in a bowl.
- Whisk the cornstarch with cold water in a separate bowl and set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken for 4 to 6 minutes on each side until golden brown and fully cooked.
- Remove the chicken and keep warm under foil.
- Pour the honey garlic sauce into the same pan and bring to a simmer for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Gradually stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook until the sauce thickens, about 1 to 2 minutes. Optionally stir in unsalted butter.
- Return the chicken to the pan and coat with the sauce. Let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
- Serve with remaining sauce and garnishes like parsley, sesame seeds, or green onions.
Notes
Consider marinating the chicken in the honey garlic sauce for enhanced flavor. Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness at 165°F.
