Description

Delicious homemade berry turnovers filled with mixed berries and wrapped in a flaky pastry.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 package rough puff pastry
  • Flour (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Combine the mixed berries, sugar, lemon juice, and cornstarch in a mixing bowl.
  3. Roll out the rough puff pastry on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick.
  4. Cut the pastry into squares measuring around 6×6 inches.
  5. Spoon a generous amount of the berry mixture into the center of each pastry square.
  6. Dot the filling with small pieces of butter.
  7. Seal the turnover by folding the pastry over and pressing the edges to secure.
  8. Brush the tops with beaten egg for a golden finish.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat in the oven for best texture.
