Description

A delightful focaccia bread infused with garlic and Parmesan, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water (approximately 110°F)
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh herbs (such as rosemary or thyme) for topping
  • Coarse sea salt for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Dissolve the yeast and sugar in the warm water. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Combine the flour and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the flour mix. Stir until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  6. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  7. Punch down the dough and spread it onto a greased baking sheet. Use your fingers to create dimples all over the surface.
  8. Brush the top with olive oil and sprinkle with minced garlic, Parmesan cheese, fresh herbs, and coarse sea salt.
  9. Let it rise again for another 20 minutes.
  10. Bake in your preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
  11. Allow to cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

For variations, consider adding toppings like sun-dried tomatoes or olives. You can substitute Parmesan with other cheese varieties, such as Asiago or Pecorino.
