Description
A delightful focaccia bread infused with garlic and Parmesan, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
- 1 1/2 cups warm water (approximately 110°F)
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh herbs (such as rosemary or thyme) for topping
- Coarse sea salt for sprinkling
Instructions
- Dissolve the yeast and sugar in the warm water. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- Combine the flour and salt in a large mixing bowl.
- Add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the flour mix. Stir until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Punch down the dough and spread it onto a greased baking sheet. Use your fingers to create dimples all over the surface.
- Brush the top with olive oil and sprinkle with minced garlic, Parmesan cheese, fresh herbs, and coarse sea salt.
- Let it rise again for another 20 minutes.
- Bake in your preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before slicing and serving.
Notes
For variations, consider adding toppings like sun-dried tomatoes or olives. You can substitute Parmesan with other cheese varieties, such as Asiago or Pecorino.
