- 1 cup almond flour
- 1 ¾ cup powdered sugar
- 3 egg whites
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon cream of tartar
- Fruity Pebbles cereal for garnish
- Buttercream or filling of choice
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) and line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Sift together the almond flour and powdered sugar in a bowl.
- Beat the egg whites until foamy and add the cream of tartar; continue beating until soft peaks form.
- Gradually add the granulated sugar while beating until stiff peaks form.
- Fold in the almond flour mixture and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Pipe small rounds of the macaron batter onto the prepared baking sheets.
- Let the piped macarons sit for about 30 minutes until they form a skin.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until they easily lift off the parchment paper.
- Cool completely before filling with your choice of filling and sprinkle with Fruity Pebbles.
Notes
Store macarons in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or in the fridge for up to a week. They can also be frozen for up to a month.
