Description
Deliciously crisp on the outside and packed with flavor on the inside, these green pea patties are perfect for snacks or as appetizers.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups green peas (fresh or frozen)
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (gluten-free if needed)
- 1/4 cup chopped onions
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Oil for frying (canola or vegetable oil)
Instructions
- Mash the green peas in a mixing bowl using a fork, leaving them coarsely blended.
- Next, add the breadcrumbs, chopped onions, minced garlic, cumin powder, coriander powder, salt, and pepper. Mix everything together until well combined.
- Form the mixture into small patties, about the size of your palm.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Ensure the oil is hot enough before adding the patties to achieve that crispy texture.
- Fry the patties for 3 to 4 minutes on each side, or until they turn a lovely golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from the pan and serve them hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
These patties can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for 3 to 4 days. To freeze, lay flat on a baking sheet and freeze before transferring to a freezer-safe container.
