Description

Deliciously crisp on the outside and packed with flavor on the inside, these green pea patties are perfect for snacks or as appetizers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups green peas (fresh or frozen)
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (gluten-free if needed)
  • 1/4 cup chopped onions
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Oil for frying (canola or vegetable oil)

Instructions

  1. Mash the green peas in a mixing bowl using a fork, leaving them coarsely blended.
  2. Next, add the breadcrumbs, chopped onions, minced garlic, cumin powder, coriander powder, salt, and pepper. Mix everything together until well combined.
  3. Form the mixture into small patties, about the size of your palm.
  4. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Ensure the oil is hot enough before adding the patties to achieve that crispy texture.
  5. Fry the patties for 3 to 4 minutes on each side, or until they turn a lovely golden brown and crispy.
  6. Remove from the pan and serve them hot with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

These patties can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for 3 to 4 days. To freeze, lay flat on a baking sheet and freeze before transferring to a freezer-safe container.
