Description
Delicious and addictive crispy bites made from tofu marinated in dill pickle juice, perfect for snacks or appetizers.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 block firm tofu, pressed and drained
- 1 cup dill pickle juice
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Start by cutting the pressed tofu into bite-sized cubes.
- Place the tofu cubes in a bowl and cover them with dill pickle juice. Marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- In a shallow bowl, mix together the breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- In another bowl, add the flour.
- Once marinated, remove the tofu from the pickle juice. Coat each cube in flour, dip in water, and then roll in the breadcrumb mixture.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat, enough to submerge the tofu bites halfway.
- Fry the tofu cubes until they are golden brown and crispy on all sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Remove from the pan and drain on paper towels. Serve warm and enjoy this crispy delight!
Notes
If you’re looking for gluten-free options, substitute the all-purpose flour with a gluten-free flour blend and use gluten-free breadcrumbs.
