Description

Delightful and nutritious cottage cheese bagels that combine the chewy texture of bagels with the creaminess of cottage cheese.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups cottage cheese
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Combine the cottage cheese, all-purpose flour, baking powder, garlic powder, Parmesan cheese, and salt in a large mixing bowl. Stir until the mixture forms a soft dough.
  3. Divide the dough into equal portions—about the size of a golf ball. Roll each piece into a rope shape, then join the ends to form a bagel ring.
  4. Place the shaped bagels on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Beat an egg in a small bowl and brush it generously over each bagel.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes or until they are golden brown and firm to the touch.
  7. Allow them to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Store leftover bagels in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate for a week. Freezing is also an option.
