- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Chocolate pastry cream (for filling)
- Powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
- Combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large mixing bowl. Whisk until thoroughly mixed.
- Whisk together the milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract in a separate bowl until well combined.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture and stir gently until just combined; be careful not to overmix.
- Heat the oil in a deep fryer or a large pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Carefully drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil. Fry until golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Remove the doughnuts and drain them on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
- Allow the doughnuts to cool slightly, then fill each with chocolate pastry cream using a piping bag.
- Dust with powdered sugar just before serving.
