Ingredients

- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix 1 cup of flour, granulated sugar, yeast, and salt.
- In a small saucepan, gently heat the milk, water, and butter until warm—avoid boiling it.
- Stir the warm liquid mixture into the flour blend until combined.
- Add the egg and gradually add enough remaining flour until you form a soft dough.
- On a floured surface, knead the dough until it’s smooth and elastic.
- Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm spot until it has doubled in size—about 60 minutes.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface, then sprinkle it with brown sugar and cinnamon before rolling it up tightly into a log.
- Place your rolled dough into a greased loaf pan and let it rise again until it doubles, around 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) while waiting.
- Bake the loaf for 30-35 minutes until golden brown. Allow to cool in the pan before slicing.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. For longer storage, freeze individual slices.
