Description

Delicious chocolate chip peanut butter oatmeal bars that are easy to make and perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/4 cups quick-cooking oats
  • 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 (12-ounce) package semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and line a 13×9 baking pan with aluminum foil; spray with cooking spray.
  2. Combine the melted butter, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl; mix until smooth.
  3. Add the flour and oats gradually, mixing until well combined.
  4. Reserve a heaping cup of the oat mixture for later.
  5. Press the remaining oat mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan and bake for 10 minutes.
  6. Mix the peanut butter and sweetened condensed milk in a separate bowl until smooth; pour over the baked crust.
  7. Crumble half of the reserved oat mixture over the peanut butter layer, then sprinkle with chocolate chips and the remaining oat mixture.
  8. Bake for another 25 minutes, until golden brown; let it cool completely before cutting.
  9. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.

Notes

For a healthier version, consider using whole wheat flour or natural peanut butter.
