Description

Delicious, easy-to-make pita pockets filled with savory ground beef, earthy mushrooms, and melted cheese, served with refreshing tzatziki sauce.

  • 4 Pita Bread
  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 8 oz Mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheese (Cheddar or Mozzarella)
  • 1 cup Tzatziki Sauce
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 Onion, chopped
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil
  • Salt & Pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup Lettuce, shredded
  • 1 Tomato, diced
  • 1 Cucumber, sliced
  • Fresh Herbs (Dill or Parsley), for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onions and minced garlic; sauté until fragrant and soft.
  2. Add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it into smaller pieces.
  3. Stir in sliced mushrooms and season generously with salt and pepper. Cook until the mushrooms are tender.
  4. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Stuff each pita pocket with the beef and mushroom mixture, ensuring to pack it tightly. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
  6. Arrange the stuffed pitas on a baking sheet and bake for about 10 minutes, or until the cheese is perfectly melted.
  7. Serve warm alongside tzatziki sauce, lettuce, tomato, and cucumber for freshness.
