Description
A moist and delicious apple cake with a rich brown sugar glaze, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups diced apples (approximately 2 medium apples)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour your bundt pan thoroughly to prevent sticking.
- Cream the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together until the mixture is light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one-by-one, mixing well after each addition. Then, stir in the vanilla extract.
- Whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and ground cinnamon in a separate bowl.
- Add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, alternating with the diced apples. Start and end with the flour mixture, and mix just until combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- For an optional glaze, whisk together ½ cup powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons brown sugar, and 1-2 teaspoons of milk until smooth. Drizzle it over the cooled cake before serving.
Notes
For a twist, you can substitute granulated sugar with coconut sugar or swap in different types of apples like Granny Smith.
