Description

Delicious banana cinnamon rolls with a fluffy texture and sweet cream cheese frosting, perfect for breakfast or brunch.


Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk, warmed
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • Cream cheese frosting (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Combine the warm milk, sugar, and yeast in a large bowl. Let this sit for about 5 minutes until it foams up.
  2. Stir in the melted butter, mashed bananas, and egg until everything is well mixed.
  3. Add in the flour and salt gradually, mixing until you form a soft dough.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for roughly 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Transfer the dough to a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise for 1 hour in a warm spot.
  6. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Roll the dough out into a rectangle, then spread it with your remaining melted butter.
  8. Sprinkle the cinnamon and brown sugar evenly over the butter.
  9. Tightly roll up the dough and slice it into uniform pieces.
  10. Arrange the slices in a greased baking dish and allow them to rise for an additional 30 minutes.
  11. Bake in your preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until they are golden brown.
  12. Cool slightly, then drizzle the cream cheese frosting over the top before serving!
